About Me

I have been involved with the HAAGA-HELIA Linux Club since he started at HAAGA-HELIA in January 2008. I’ve been Vice-President since mid 2008.

Since joining HHLinuxClub I have been involved in organizing HHLInuxClub events (LAN Parties, the Open Source Seminar 2009, etc.) and with the development of the HHLinuxClub site. I also acquired sponsorship from Network Redux in the form of a free VPS for hosting this site and paid for the first year of our domain, HHLinuxClub.org.

I am currently actively involved with the development of the HHLinuxClub custom CMS, Eish!, and am on the lookout for interesting projects to get involved with.

Recently I have written a Ruby on Rails application for sending Wake-On-Lan MagicPackets from a web interface. It is called Wakify and it is fully open sourced.

In addition to this, I have also given a four day course on Ruby and Ruby on Rails together with Joao Cardoso. The course covered the basics of Ruby, the basics of Rails, version control with Git, and deployment to Heroku.

Currently I’m one of three organizers working towards Finland’s first international Rails conference, Frozen Rails.
